The Power of a Compliment

Rather unexpectantly today while frequently a local bakery, I was offered a sudden compliment that threw me way off guard.  I was wearing my favorite shirt, a black, blue, green striped shirt that reminds me of something out of the 1950's.   The woman behind the counter and I exchanged greetings and I was about to order when she said,

"That is an awesome shirt!"

I was speechless.  This bakery wasn't known for their service and to hear just made me take a step back.   It was awesome.  I even bought an extra doughnut that I never ate just because I wanted to support this employee.

The next time you are in a conversation with someone, don't be afraid to offer a compliment.  It might just do more than you expect!
